Bay College announces an exhibition, Dave Berg, Artist and Printmaker
In the Hartwig Gallery. Reception and artist talk held Thursday, February 5 at 2 p.m. Eastern.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Dave is a self-taught printmaker who has been refining his craft since 2018. A native of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Dave draws much of his inspiration from the breathtaking landscapes near his home in Marquette. His work reflects a deep connection to the region, with each print offering viewers a window into the rugged beauty of the U.P.’s wilderness.
His intricate works, inspired by the region’s natural landscapes, are created through the delicate and demanding reduction printmaking process. Each piece reflects not only artistic vision but also mastery
of a complex technique that requires precision, patience, and a willingness to take risks.
ARTIST STATEMENT
The art I create is bound to my process of reduction printing. Hand carving and inking multiple layers of textures and colors to produce a work that invites the viewer to immerse themselves into the experience of the artist and connect at a deeper level with the subject.
Join us for the artist talk and reception on Thursday, February 5 at 2 p.m. Eastern. The exhibition will be on display from January 14-February 26, 2025. This event is free and open to the public.
