Celebrate the spirit of the season this Giving Tuesday, December 2, as Bay College and the Escanaba City Band unite for a free holiday concert and an evening of giving back to the community. The concert will take place at 7pm ET in the Besse Theater on Bay College’s Escanaba Campus, with doors opening at 6:30pm ET.

This special event, “Day of Giving with the Escanaba City Band,” will feature a full-length holiday concert while Bay College students, staff, and local organizations coordinate charitable drives that benefit families and individuals in need across Delta County.

The community can show their support by making a monetary donation or by bringing an item deemed “in need” by the organization itself. Donations are encouraged, however are not required to attend the concert. Bay College is proud to have the following Student Clubs and participating Bay College employees who initiated charitable efforts on campus this holiday season:

Bay College Food Pantry, partnered with the Bay College Foundation

The Bay College Foundation and Food Pantry will be accepting monetary donations or shelf-stable, non-perishable food items that are unopened. Due to safety requirements, items that require refrigeration, freezing, or that are homemade or home-canned cannot be accepted.

High-demand items include: Dry pasta (any kind), pasta sauce (especially spaghetti sauce), canned entrées (beefaroni, ravioli, etc.), macaroni and cheese, dry cereals, canned vegetables, canned fruits, white or brown rice, canned meats (chicken, tuna, etc.), ramen, protein bars, snack bars, and shelf-stable milk. Toiletries, hygiene items, toilet paper, etc. are also highly requested.

Holiday Helpers
Supported by the Student Nurses Association and EMT/Paramedic Club, Holiday Helpers delivers Christmas gifts to families in need throughout Delta County and for veterans at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette. Guests can participate by making monetary donations or by choosing a tag from the Holiday Helpers tree to help fulfill a child’s wish.

Warm Coats for Warm Hearts
The Business Professionals of America Association students will be collecting new or gently used coats and winter gear—including hats, gloves, and snow pants— for donation to the Salvation Army.

Silent Night Auction
Coordinated by TRIO Student Support Services, this popular auction will feature items donated by Bay College staff, faculty, and students—including artwork, gift baskets, baked goods, and more. Proceeds support additional student opportunities such as events and College Transfer Trips. For more information, contact
trio@baycollege.edu.

Christmas Drive with the Salvation Army
The Salvation Army will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for its local Toy Shop, which serves families with children up to age 18. A Red Kettle will also be available for monetary donations, supporting both holiday and year-round community efforts.

Help spread the joy this holiday season! All are invited to attend and share a night of music, community, and generosity.
