The American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) has announced the appointment of Dr. Amy Reddinger to the Commission on Small and Rural Colleges. This key advisory body informs AACC’s policies and initiatives impacting two-year institutions nationwide.
The AACC Commission on Small and Rural Colleges plays a vital role in shaping strategic priorities for community colleges that serve remote or less-populated areas. Commissioners offer guidance to the AACC Board of Directors on policies, programs, and advocacy efforts aimed at enhancing student success and institutional sustainability.
Dr. Reddinger will serve a three-year term on the commission, beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2028. This prestigious appointment recognizes her leadership, dedication, and expertise in advancing educational opportunities within small and rural communities.
“Dr. Reddinger’s appointment aligns with the important work Bay College is advancing in partnership with NCII on Rural Guided Pathways,” said Bay College President Dr. Nerita Hughes. “Her voice will bring valuable insight to the challenges and opportunities facing rural institutions like ours.”
President and CEO of the AACC, Dr. Walter G. Bumphus stated, "Dedicated leadership is essential to the continued success of community colleges and to our association."
