Bay College is proud to recognize Gabriel Viau as its 2026 All-Michigan Academic Team representative and recipient of the Presidential Honor Award in recognition of his outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to service.
Viau is a highly motivated business administration student pursuing multiple credentials at Bay College, including an Associate of Arts in Business Administration, Associate of Applied Science degrees in Business and Marketing, and a Certificate in Entrepreneurial Small Business. His dedication to academic excellence and student involvement has distinguished him as a leader both inside and outside the classroom.
Viau is a graduate of Bark River-Harris High School, where he earned Valedictorian honors. He continued to excel academically at Bay College, consistently earning placement on the Dean’s List and receiving the Outstanding Graduate Award in Business. His selection to the All-Michigan Academic Team recognizes his academic success, leadership accomplishments, and dedication to community engagement.
In addition to his academic achievements, Viau is deeply involved in campus leadership and student organizations. He currently serves as President of Bay College’s Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter, where he leads meetings, coordinates events, and fosters member engagement and professional development opportunities. He is also an active member of Phi Theta Kappa, Campus Activities Board, and Civics Corps, demonstrating his strong commitment to student life and community service.
Viau has also developed extensive professional experience through his work at Horizons Steakhouse at the Island Resort & Casino. He began as a busser and host before advancing to server and bartender roles, demonstrating exceptional leadership, adaptability, customer service, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
Viau has been recognized for his strong work ethic, leadership abilities, and data-driven approach to problem-solving. He plans to pursue a career in corporate management, where he hopes to lead teams, improve operational efficiency, and contribute to long-term organizational success.
