Foundation Scholarships

Fall and Winter Semester Application

Bay College awards over $400,000 in scholarships to nearly 300 incoming and returning students that meet specified criteria. The scholarship program at Bay College is supported by contributions and gifts from community organizations, businesses, Bay College employees, families, foundations, and individual donors via the Bay College Foundation that may help you achieve your educational goals. All students incoming and returning are eligibility to apply.

  1. Complete the online scholarship application and submit by March 1. The application asks for specific criteria if applicable, consists of three essays, provide a minimum of one reference letter, and for maximum scholarship consideration, a high school senior should provide a current high school transcript for a current GPA.
  2. The applications are ranked by points from the above requirements.
  3. Recipients will be notified of the award in April.

Board of Trustees Scholarship

Bay College offers two Board Elite Scholarships and ten Board of Trustees Scholarships opportunities annually to incoming high school seniors with a 3.8 cumulative GPA. Eligible students complete one application for the chance to receive one Board of Trustees Scholarship.

The Board Elite Scholarships cover full tuition and fees, as well as course required text books for the fall and winter semesters immediately following high school graduation and are renewable for a 2nd year (fall and winter semesters) provided required criteria is maintained.

The Board of Trustees Scholarship is $3,000 for the year divided equally between the fall and winter semesters immediately following high school graduation and are renewable for a 2nd year (fall and winter semesters) provided required criteria is maintained.

  • Graduating senior from a Bay College service area (Crystal Falls/Forest Park, Escanaba, Gladstone, Rapid River, Bark-River Harris, Big Bay de Noc, Hannahville/Nah Tah Wahsh, North Central, Mid-Peninsula, Stephenson, Carney-Nadeau, North Dickinson, Norway, Iron Mountain, Kingsford, and Manistique)
  • Graduating senior with a cumulative high school GPA of at least a 3.8.
  • Must be accepted to Bay College two weeks prior to the deadline (application requires myBay login).
  • Student must begin attendance to Bay College no later than the first fall semester following high school graduation and maintain full-time (12 credits or more) enrollment in Fall and Winter semesters.
  • Attain a 3.2 GPA minimum at Bay College fall semester to receive the full award winter semester.
  • Maintain a 3.2 GPA minimum at Bay College winter semester to receive the full award the following year.
  1. Accepted students who meet the eligibility requirements will be sent a letter by the President of Bay College inviting them to complete the Board of Trustees scholarship application process.
  2. Complete the online scholarship application and submit by March 1. The application consists of two essays, two reference letters, and current high school transcript (for accurate GPA).
  3. Recipients will be notified of the award in April.

Leadership Scholarship

Application Deadline:
  • March 15

Bay College offers a six $4,000 Leadership Scholarships annually to incoming high school seniors with a 3.0 cumulative GPA.  Eligible students complete one application for the chance to receive one Board of Trustees Scholarship. Students will be judged on their leadership experience in high school, community involvement, academic achievement, and expression of leadership. Leadership Scholarships are made possible by gifts to the Bay College Foundation from Greg and Linda Yagodzinski.

  • Graduating senior with a cumulative high school GPA of at least a 3.0.
  • Must be accepted to Bay College two weeks prior to the deadline (application requires myBay login).
  • Student must begin attendance to Bay College no later than the first fall semester following high school graduation.
  • Attain a 2.5 GPA minimum at Bay College fall semester to receive the full award winter semester.
  1. Accepted students who meet the eligibility requirements will be sent a postcard by Bay College inviting them to complete the Leadership scholarship application process.
  2. Complete the online scholarship application and submit by March 15. The application consists of one essay, list of involvements, one reference letter, and current high school transcript (for accurate GPA).
  3. Recipients will be notified of the award in April.

Local Scholarships
