Bay College proudly congratulates Kyle Schaeffer, recipient of the Torch Award for the June–August 2025 quarter.
Kyle joined Bay College in September 2022 as the Academic Success Manager and was later promoted to Director of Academic Support. He has been nominated by his colleagues in recognition of his steadfast dedication to the mission and values of Bay College.

“Kyle is the definition of a team player. Despite his already full workload as Academic Success Manager—overseeing tutors, SI leaders, Nursing Learning Assistants, and advising students—he consistently goes out of his way to support his colleagues. He jumps into projects outside of his primary responsibilities, such as serving on the AI committee, math reform group, and leading efforts to improve signage in the Hub. Kyle collaborates across departments, always ready to lend a hand or contribute a helpful idea. He builds strong, positive relationships with staff, faculty, and students alike, making him someone others genuinely enjoy working with.”

The purpose of the TORCH Award is to give personal recognition to those employees on Bay College’s campuses dedicated to the mission of the College because of their attitude, commitment, and dedication toward the higher education learning environment.
