The explosion of computer use has created a high demand for specialists to provide technical and end-user support. Employers seek graduates who possess a strong technical background, combined with good interpersonal and communication skills. The CIS programs at Bay College are designed to provide students with the skills needed for employment in the field. Bay College offers two AAS degrees in Computer Information Systems and one certificate program in Computer Applications. 

The CIS: Software/Network Support program is designed to prepare individuals for positions providing technical support, assistance, trouble-shooting, and training to end computer users for software, hardware, and networks. The program emphasizes problem solving using current software packages, hardware configurations, operating systems, and networks. A graduate of the program will have the potential for employment in the areas of help desk support, network support, software training, and web page development.
The CIS: Software Support program is designed to equip individuals to select, install, use, and help others to use computers systems and software. The program emphasizes productivity software, database development, programming, and web design. A graduate of the program will have the potential for employment in the areas of Help Desk Support, software training, applications development, database support, and web page development.

The Computer Applications certificate is designed for students interested in a career requiring entry-level knowledge of personal productivity software and computer operations. Students will be able to effectively use word processing, electronic spreadsheets, and database software. Students may further their employability options by completing an Associate Degree or seeking professional certifications.
