Explore the Paramedics program
Paramedics are trained to aggressively manage all types of emergency situations, providing scene control, emergency medical, cardiac, or trauma care, and safe patient transport to a medical or trauma center. The paramedic is an integral part of the health care team. They often provide care during the most critical part of a patient’s medical or trauma event. The professional paramedic is highly motivated, caring, and a critical thinker. They are qualified by cognitive and hands-on education and certification to provide pre-hospital care under the supervision of a physician director in the Emergency Medical Service system. Opportunities exist for paramedics to work in pre-hospital medicine, as well as in emergency departments, clinics and industry.BUREAU OF LABOR STATISTICS
