Emilie Schada is the Community Events and Marketing Coordinator excited to join and serve the Bay College community by facilitating the use of the rooms and spaces for the betterment of student, culture, and community success! A native of Chicago, Emilie received a BA in Sociology from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo in 1996 and shortly thereafter became employed as an Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) AmeriCorps member where a lifelong professional dedication to public service was born that is ongoing. Subsequently, Emilie served as a community development practitioner in a variety of nonprofit and municipal settings where events, grant writing, marketing, and volunteer management all played a significant role including, for the City of Kalamazoo, City of Plainwell, and recently upon moving to the Upper Peninsula in 2014 with husband Mark and two sons, Henry and Holden,the Central Upper Peninsula Planning and Development Commission. Emilie also has a Masters in Public Administration from Grand Valley State University. Emilie enjoys all facets of the arts- visual and the performance-based- and is a member of the Esky Pops vocal group, has previously sung with Bay de Noc Chorale Society, Players de Noc Community Theater, and loves the artistic fabric found here in Delta County!
