Openings in Bay West's LPN Program

Bay College West Campus currently has some available seats in their Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program for this fall. Local healthcare providers are paying up to $19.00 per hour as a starting wage with many offering tuition reimbursement opportunities.

Becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse is one of the fastest ways to enter the health care profession at the nursing level. Students can complete their Practical Nurse certificate within three semesters (one year full-time) at Bay College, admitting eligible applicants annually in the fall semester. Once the certificate program is successfully completed and a certificate awarded, the student will be eligible to apply for licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in any state.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics; a licensed practical nurse monitors patient health and vital signs, administers basic patient care, provides for comfort of patients, enters patient data into records and discusses the care they are providing with the patient. They work in nursing care facilities, hospitals, doctor’s offices and home health care services.

Linda Lewandowski, Dean of Allied Health at Bay College, said, “Becoming an LPN is a great option to get your foot in the door of the healthcare industry. What’s more is that you’ll be doing what you love—caring for others.”
