Bay College - Besse Theater

Bay College will once again be filled with holiday cheer when the Marquette Symphony Orchestra Chamber Strings ensemble take the Besse Theater stage on December 17, 2019 at 7:00 PM.

The Marquette Symphony Orchestra Strings is a conductor-less group of 12 – 20 string players who enjoy making music and playing a variety of styles. All regular members of the MSO, the ensemble includes doctors, a dentist, students and a tv personality, as well as professional musicians. The group has had two successful summer concert tours around Marquette and will present holiday programs in both Escanaba and Munising in 2019.

Sounds of Holiday Strings will treat attendees to a musical journey along a wide range of repertoire from traditional to contemporary pieces celebrating the holidays with familiar favorites including Silent Night, God Rest You Merry Gentlemen, Jingle Bell Rock and selections from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite among many others. Bay College encourages the public to attend this family-friendly event, incorporating the concert into their annual holiday traditions.
