Bay College Honors Outstanding Educator

Full-time Instructor, Nanci Love, one of the recipients of the 2020 Bay College Outstanding Educator Award.

Bay College honors Nanci Love, full-time literature instructor, as one of its recipients of the Outstanding Educator Award sponsored by the Don Johnson Agency/MEEMIC Insurance. To receive consideration for the award, faculty were nominated by a colleague, student, or someone from the community. The primary focus of this award is to acknowledge faculty’s commitment to education and excellence in service to others. 

After receiving her Master's Degree from Eastern Michigan University, Nanci Love taught at the University of South Carolina – Beaufort, Wayne State University, Eastern Michigan University, and Schoolcraft Community College before being hired at Bay College in 1992. In the last 28 years, she has served in numerous leadership positions including Chair of the Curriculum Committee, Division Chair for the Arts and Letters Division, and Co-Chair of the Instructional Leaders Team. She currently holds many leadership positions at the local and state level through the Michigan Education Association. In the community Nanci is known as "the film lady," running the Bay Film Series for the past 27 years. One of Nanci’s peers said of her teaching, “She approaches each semester with joy, excitement and a lens of currency. Her zest for the new semester and new students applies to both face-to-face and online classes!” Congratulations, Nanci!
