The Richard Haeusler Memorial Science Scholarship was recently established at Bay College to assist a full-time, freshman student pursuing a degree in science.

Richard was a biology and math professor at Bay College for over 30 years.  He was also the chairman of the mathematics/science division before retiring in June of 2000.  Richard supported and encouraged many students throughout his life and took pride in helping students succeed.

Richard passed away in November 2020.  His family created a scholarship at Bay College in his memory to continue his legacy and belief in higher education.  This scholarship will be awarded annually in Richard’s name.

“It was fitting to create a scholarship at Bay College since our father worked there for many years and strongly believed in higher education, “stated Aaron Haeusler, a son of Richard’s.  “It makes our family happy to know we are helping a science student each year and supporting our father’s passion.”

Bay College students can apply for over 300 scholarships online at baycollege.edu/scholarships.  Founded in 1972, the Bay College Foundation connects businesses, organizations and individuals to the rewards of changing lives and advancing communities with investments in higher education.  For more information on the Bay College Foundation, visit baycollege.edu/foundation, email foundation_FROM_BAY_COLLEGE or call 906-217-1700.
