As part of the National Week of Conversation, the Bay College Delta Chats group is partnering with The Listen First Project to host “The Music of Our Lives,” an online event set to take place on Monday, April 15 from 3 – 4 pm ET.

This online event will feature local musicians Phil Lynch and Katie Bender, and will be both a mixture of musical performance and conversation. Participants will be encouraged to share how music has changed their lives and help create a community-developed “Songs for Civic Inspiration” playlist. Those interested in participating in this online event can register here.

“Music has always been a part of our community’s cohesion and is a way for people to connect in shared humanity and as fellow Americans,” says June Klees, Instructor of Social and Behavior Science and Civics Corps Advisor. “We have the power to transcend differences by listening and sharing stories about the songs that have touched our lives the most.”

The National Week of Conversation is from April 15 – 21, 2024 and is widely celebrated across the country. “The Music of Our Lives” will be available online to local, regional, and national audiences. Delta Chats encourages non-profit, non-partisan, and non-religious service organizations in Delta County to learn more about dialog practices and how to host events of their own.
