Safety Training at Bay College

Bay College has been a co-sponsor of MIOSHA’s Training Institute since 2007 and offers classes for the General and Construction Industry. The Winter 2024 training schedule has been released and registration is open for all courses.

January 4, MIOSHA’s Continuous Safety and Health Improvement course will be held from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, and the cost is $130.00.

On January 16 and 17, MIOSHA 10-Hour Construction course will be held from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, and the cost is $190.00. This course offers attendees the opportunity to earn both the Federal OSHA-10 and Michigan OSHA-10 cards, while being taught by a highly qualified instructor.

February 1, Documentation: Are You in Compliance training will be held from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, and the cost is $130.00. This course is designed to help learners understand the basic requirements for their places of employment and what safety programs apply.

March 12, Mobile Aerial Work Platforms will be held from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, and the cost is $130.00. This course has been approved for both residential builders' pre-licensure and continuing safety training requirements.

MIOSHA offers training scholarships that covers 50% of the regular course fee. To apply for a MIOSHA training scholarship go to mioshamti.apps.lara.state.mi.us.

The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Annual 8-hour training has been scheduled for 2024, and attendees can choose to attend on February 16 or February 17 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  The MSHA 8-hour training covers Part 46 and 48 and is a required training for those engaged in mining activities.  Upon completion, participants will receive their 5000-23 Certificate of Training. This training is provided in partnership with Michigan Tech and the Michigan State Grants Program. The cost of the training is $70.00 and includes morning refreshments and lunch.
