Maggie Murphy-Pomeroy to Address Bay Graduates
News
Bay College is excited to announce that Maggie Murphy-Pomeroy has been selected to deliver the College’s 2019 graduation commencement speech on May 11.
In her speech, she reflects on the changes she has witnessed in education and contrasts her two educational experiences. Murphy-Pomeroy notes, “Just as Bay has changed the way it provides education, it has provided education to prepare [us] for change.” She says that her twenty-year-old self would have never even entered such a contest as public speaking was something she avoided. However, she has come a long way and is excited to share her story with her fellow graduates and commencement attendees.
Murphy-Pomeroy has been an Escanaba resident for 26 years. She earned an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Studies in 1995 and will earn her second credential, an Associate of Applied Science degree in Office Information Systems, this May.
She has owned and operated Fun in Focus Photobooth Rental for several years and recently accepted a new position as the Uniserv Field Assistant for the Michigan Education Association.
She is the proud mother of three daughters: Nora, Keeley, and Delanie.
