Bay College honored its 2024 Outstanding Part-Time Faculty during an awards banquet on April 16. Any Bay College employee, Board Member, student, alumni, or community member may nominate a part-time faculty for the Bay College Outstanding Part-Time Faculty Award. The primary focus of this award is to acknowledge the faculty’s commitment to education and excellence in service to others.

The 2024 Outstanding Part-Time Faculty are as follows:

Jonathan Gregg

Jonathan Gregg was hired in 2010 as a part-time Computer Network Systems Security Instructor. He primarily teaches high school students at the Dickinson Iron ISD as an Information Technology Instructor. Jonathan also recently received his Master’s degree this past December in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governor’s University.

One student said about Jonathan: “Mr. Gregg aims to relate with every student in order to not just teach them the material, but also connect with them and ensure that they are doing alright outside of school.”

Larry Sundling

Larry Sundling was hired in 2006 and currently works as both a part-time instructor for the Water Technology Program and as the Water Technology Learning Assistant. Larry has extensive knowledge and experience in a variety of domestic and industrial wastewater treatment operations and processes, technical services, wastewater operations, and laboratory analysis. He also received his Associates of Applied Science in Water Purification Technology from Bay College in 1994.

A colleague said about Larry: “Larry is always helping students succeed. He will always make time to tutor students one-on-one and do supplemental math for students. He is also first in line to support student open house events, and many high school visits. He is very passionate about the Water Program.”
