Full-time Instructor, Marc LaBeau, one of the recipients of the 2021 Bay College Outstanding Educator Award.

Bay College honors Marc LaBeau, full-time biology instructor, as one of its recipients of the Outstanding Educator Award.  To receive consideration for the award, faculty were nominated by a colleague, student, or someone from the community.  The primary focus of this award is to acknowledge faculty’s commitment to education and excellence in service to others.

Marc LaBeau is a biology Instructor at the Escanaba Campus at Bay College.  LaBeau was hired in 1999 and currently teaches Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Medical Microbiology, Pathophysiology and has previously taught Microbiology and Human Chemistry.  He was named Outstanding Educator for Bay College in 2006, 2010, and 2015.  LaBeau holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Master of Science degree in Biology from Northern Michigan University.  Additionally, LaBeau previously taught various biology topics at Lake-Sumpter Community College in Florida and downstate at Montcalm Community College.

Dean of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Amy Reddinger said of LaBeau, “Marc LaBeau is an instructor who brings rigor and very high expectations to his classroom.  He sees part of his work in the teaching of biology as teaching excellent and highly-prepared nurses and medical professionals for the future – something we can all agree is an important and necessary task at this moment in time”.
