Bay College Announces Quarterly TORCH Award Winner

Congratulations to Edie Erickson, Bay College's quarterly September – November 2018 TORCH Award winner. Edie works at Bay College as an Instructional Designer. She is recognized for her work as noted in the following:

Edie Erickson was nominated for consistently being responsive to faculty in supporting the instructional design of their online courses. Edie is organized, efficient, and friendly. Edie has assisted faculty in making sure their syllabus is accessible to all students. She has helped with the technical back-end design to make efficiencies, which provided a positive experience for the student and the instructor. She proactively communicates with faculty each term on the end of the semester process which contributes to student success. Edie is never one to shy away from diving into troubleshooting within our learning management systems. A quote from the nomination stated, “I appreciate Edie’s contribution to student success, a culture of success, and community success and feel she is most deserving of this award.”

The purpose of the TORCH Award is to give personal recognition to those employees on Bay College’s campuses dedicated to the mission of the College because of their attitude, commitment, and dedication toward the higher education learning environment. TORCH stands for: Team Player; Outstanding Performance; Responsive to Others; Conscientious to Mission of Bay; Helpful to All. This award is given to one employee on a quarterly basis.
