Bay College will host the 31st Annual Career Day at Bay (formerly named Occupational Open House) on Thursday, November 1, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Escanaba Campus. The purpose of this event is to provide an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to visit the campus and explore the career and technical programs offered at Bay College. According to Cindy Carter, Dean of Business, Technology, and Workforce Development, students should find the event to be extremely informative and well worth the time. “Many students are undecided about what kind of career paths they will pursue and this event gives them exposure to several possibilities,” states Carter. “Those students wishing to continue education beyond an associate’s degree will also discover that many of our occupational programs will transfer to Lake Superior State University, Ferris State University, Michigan Tech, and other 4-year institutions.”
Area high school juniors and seniors will be able to attend presentations from the following program areas: Accounting, Automotive Technology, Business Administration/Marketing, Computer Information Systems, Computer Network Systems and Security, Criminal Justice, Early Childhood Development, EMT/Paramedic, Geographic Information Systems, Human Services, Mechatronics, Nursing (LPN/RN), Office Information Systems, Water Resource Management, Environmental Management, and Welding Technology. Last year, approximately 425 students from 23 area high schools participated in this event.
High school juniors and seniors can register for this event by contacting their high school counselor. Lunch will be provided.
