Congratulations to Pat Bazan, Bay College’s quarterly (June – August) 2023 TORCH Award recipient.  The TORCH Award gives personal recognition to Bay College employees who are dedicated to the mission of the College based on their attitude, commitment, and dedication toward the higher education learning environment.  TORCH stands for: Team Player; Outstanding Performance; Responsive to Others; Conscientious to Mission of Bay; Helpful to All.  This award is given to one employee on a quarterly basis.

Bazan, Building and Maintenance Manager at West Campus in Iron Mountain, joined Bay College in June of 2003.  He was nominated by several of his colleagues.

“Pat is a true gift to Bay College and West Campus.”

“Pat approaches everything he does with keeping our students and community needs in mind.”

“You'll never catch Pat being too busy to help someone, whether it’s a student, co-worker or community member.”

“He puts a lot of thought, time, and consideration into what we do, how we look, how the funds are spent, along with meeting the needs of us here at the campus (employees, students, community members) and portraying Bay College out in the community in a positive and collaborative way.”
